Parent Resources
Research shows that parent involvement is key to a child’s success in school. There are many ways to get involved in our school:
- PTA: this organization is the backbone of any good school. Meetings are held monthly and you can be involved as little or as much as you would like, from simply attending meetings to becoming an officer. Visit the PTA website to Join!
- School Site Council: this committee is the governing body of a public school. Decisions about budget, program improvement, student programs, etc, all come through this council. While voting members are elected, meetings are open to the public. They are held 6-8 times a year and are publicized in the school newsletter, on the school marquee, and on an agenda posted in the front office at least 72 hours before each meeting.
- Volunteer! Opportunities from informal classroom help to our “Watch D.O.G.S.” and “M.O.M.S.” programs are available throughout the year. Contact our office for more information.
